I used to love to go Black Friday shopping, but that is something I will never do again after last year. I have heard the horror stories of bad shoppers ever since I started going my self, but I had never witnessed it or experienced it myself until last year. I was in line to get an incredible deal on a television set. There was some pushing and shouting behind me because someone had cut into the line. What started out as a fun shopping trip ended up with me needing to see a Santa Barbara chiropractor because of what happened after the shouting escalated.

The two couples involved in the fight started getting physical, but store security could not get to them before it became an all out brawl. I decided that no TV was worth getting hurt, so I started to move away when there was a chain reaction of people getting pushed and falling. I ended up getting pushed hard into some shelving, and I felt the pain right away. I was taken to the hospital with several other people, and I was kept overnight because I had hit my head also.

After being released the next morning, I went to the chiropractor’s office. My husband had called that morning and was able to get me an appointment. I had pain in my back and shoulders, but there was nothing the hospital could do. That is why I went to the chiropractor, because I felt like I had been run over rather than just pushed hard into shelving. I wish I could say that the pain went away that day, but it took three trips before I felt better. The chiropractor explained why it could take that long, but I was just grateful that I was no longer feeling that level of pain. Now, I am going to do Cyber Monday shopping from the safety of my own home.
